IEC 61850 introduction & practical training
-
Summary
The IEC 61850 series of standards is the current international standard for data communication in power supply networks and for modelling switchgear. IEC 61850 is intended for the efficient and reliable transmission of process data and commands between intelligent electronic devices (IEDs) and electrical installations (primary technology). IEC 61850 is intended to ensure interoperability with IEDs from different manufacturers and was developed for use in high-speed data networks.
This basic course comprises a two-day training course on the possibilities and advantages of IEC 61850 with regard to the digitalisation and automation of electrical switchgear (substation automation) as well as the latest developments in this field. The training course has been developed for users (network operators, utility companies) and includes an extensive practical component.
This training enables participants to acquire IEC 61850 knowledge for direct application and to gain practical experience. The training provides a contribution to a structured introduction and/or optimisation of station automation based on IEC 61850 in your company. Theoretical knowledge about IEC 61850 is combined with practical exercises using our DNV test tools and real IEC 61850 assemblies. The hands-on approach is highly appreciated and is a unique selling point of this training. In order to do justice to this approach and to ensure the best possible support during the practical user exercises, the number of course participants is limited to a small group size.
